“Lesser artists borrow; great artists steal” – Picasso
You should know I tend to disagree with Picasso. Great artists do not steal; they are thinkers. They are revolutionary. Great artists innovate. I am talking about Isaac Newton as much as Picasso here; I address Albert Einstein as much as Vincent Van Gogh in an equal way. Even Bill Gates and Steve Jobs would count, I think, among the great artists of our time; they have been every bit as ground-breaking in their field as their canvas-and-palette counterparts. In recent years, the divide between art and technology has blurred considerably, and it seems poised to continue in that vein for some time. We use various forms of technology to create masterpieces. Yet, these forms are themselves works of art. This inspiring intersection of art and technology is where I want to be. Where is it most present? It is directly in computer science, which encompasses a wide range of branches, such as software engineering, artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, and computer graphics.
I am a Software Engineer based in Toronto, Ontario, with a passion for creating anything visually appealing. I have an HBSc with a major in Computer Science, and a double minor in Mathematics and Visual Studies from the University of Toronto.
In my free time, I mostly work on my personal projects – mobile apps and computer games. Occasionally, I like to bake, paint, read, and play games with my family. With more time in my hands, I go on adventures with my husband – we’ve gone on Via Ferrata and white water rafting!
